The day was drawing to a close. 2017 was nearly done. I’d walked the tracks in my neighbouring reserve many times before and was out with our dog Jax for my last reserve walk in 2017. I thought I knew all the tracks. I decided to walk further than usual, it was fabulous being out in one of my favourite places in nature. Next minute, Jax dived off down a bank in a different direction to the way we were going. For some reason, I decided to follow her and noticed a path that I didn’t know existed.

It's the time of year when overwhelm can creep up on you. Those words are flying around in your head that "everything has to be done by Christmas (who knows why??!) and you're struggling to cope. Before you know it or realise what’s going on, it happens. Halloween has been and gone, it’s got me thinking.............The question I’ve been asking myself this week is, how often do we walk around with a mask on? And why does that matter?

I've recently been working with a client who used to arrive home from work, so tired and wanting to flop on the couch with little energy or desire to prepare that nourishing meal. Feeling guilty about all the “have to dos” with little energy to do it. Not fun.  I’m so proud of the work she's put in. She's dug deep and challenged her beliefs about saying no to every request at work when her own workload was already up around her ears.

​​GF, DF, Veg When you're in those menopausal years, research shows women benefit from a more plant based diet particularly if you've got belly fat you're trying to shift. Our dietary needs are different to men as we go through this stage. If you're estrogen dominant (think stubborn belly fat and more) then steer clear of soy and dairy, making this recipe perfect. Think a low GI, low acidic diet if menopause symptoms are causing you issues.
Here's an easy dinner, great for mid week, make extra and have leftovers for lunch. Get creative, this is a base recipe and you can add what you have on hand in the fridge.

On Thursday, when technology failed and the world seemed wonky (even our dogs were crazy), I put it down to the full moon. Then this morning I questioned, was I being overly simplistic?
Was there more to what was happening? A YES popped up. Over the past fortnight situations have arisen that have really got me digging deep – and I’ll admit, it hasn’t always been easy.

How I got rid of headaches naturally

I'd always presumed I got headaches due to a lack of coffee, if I'd cut back for example or not had my daily habitual "fix". Turns out, it's a very rare day now that I get a headache. 
​
What's made the difference for me? ​It's been six months since I ended my relationship with coffee and had my last one - I admit I'm feeling very pleased with myself!
